Question Replacing a washing machine in a Newmar Class A motorhome

my washer had that problem that wouldn't spin dry clothes...then I found error code..meant door not latched...cleaned all around door latch...closed door hard..without slamming and has worked every time since..that was a year ago

Doing bedding today and got the A.10 code, thanks @Jim. But it just means check the filter, so using a kitchen knife pop the bottom cover panel off, pull the filter out of the lower right, rinse it and proceed with laundry. Not surprised as doing bedding typically produces a labrador puppy. Not a big deal to fix.

So I've been battling my washing machine for the past 1-2 hours. The cause? ME!

I crammed a comforter in that I know really won't clean but I tried. The problem is it ripped open during the wash so some of the stuffing came out. I didn't realize it traveled down to the drain plug. The issue I had was so much water was still in the washer I didn't know how to get it drained as the drain tub isn't enough capacity for that amount of water. I had an idea...cut the bottom of a solo cup out and hold it up to the drain and divert it into my biggest pot. That worked, I got the water out, I still ended up filling the drain pan but that's soaking up into a towel now. Now that I got the drain plug out you can see what was in it. This is what causes the A 10 error code and in no way requires replacing the washer/dryer. You just have to know how to use and clean these things. As soon as I pulled this out the machine started spinning again and is happy. There is an occasion where the machine may need to be opened up to pull something out of the drain tube per online. Socks etc. have found there way out. In the picture below, that white 4 pronged thing spins. If it doesn't spin because of a clog you get the A 10 error code.

We've had the same... I haven't found debris in the filter.

I think the error occurs when the water doesn't drain within a certain period od time. Clogged screen, weak drain pump...or overloaded machine... Switched to lighter loads...and seems to work. Wasn't looking forward to getting it out to replace the pump.

For what it's worth, we had to replace the Whirlpool washer with a new Splendide. I was going to have North Trail do it, but my experience with them is less than stellar. I could imagine wood trim dinged up in every passage way and promises to repair the damage with little being done afterward. First, I lined the perimeter of the "closet" with blue painters tape to try to protect the edges. I removed the bed and set the dryer on the platform, put plywood on the floor and used a floor jack to get the washer over the toilet and to the bed platform. From there, a hand truck to get it to the front door and thought I had it whipped. Couldn't figure a way to get it over the passenger seat though, so I recruited a good friend to lift it. I also used 1/2 of a 10' extension ladder to make a "ramp" to slide it down the steps. It is a heavy little bugger. On install, instead of screwing the brackets to the side of the new machine, I lined the two sides on top of the washer with 3M two sided tape, then set the dryer on top and installed the top wood bar. Hasn't moved in over 8k miles. The wife absolutely LOVES the new washer. A tip: It seems to do better when full rather than small loads.

Note, you can unscrew the toilet from the floor and slide it such as clockwise to be up against the wall. When I had a mobile tech come do warranty work on mine in the first year and he pulled the washer/dryer out that's what he did.

How hard is it to remove the passenger seat?

Disconnect plugs and remove 4 bolts, however requires 2 people as bolts have nuts under the coach that you need to put a wrench on

Just curious, does your splendide shake the coach less, as much as, or more than the Whirlpool did on spin? My new Splendide definitely shakes worse. I’ve found it’s not quite as bad when I select the highest spin speed, but I’m disappointed in that aspect of the new Spledide machine. Other than that they are pretty nice but I’m looking into various vibration isolation methods.

Just curious, does your splendide shake the coach less, as much as, or more than the Whirlpool did on spin? My new Splendide definitely shakes worse. I’ve found it’s not quite as bad when I select the highest spin speed, but I’m disappointed in that aspect of the new Spledide machine. Other than that they are pretty nice but I’m looking into various vibration isolation methods.

It just depends on the load. I really haven't noticed a difference. Just put in an action movie with surround sound, sit and enjoy the added sensory feeling.

I'm tired of trying one thing after another. Bought a new Splendide on Amazon. Actually worked out pretty good as I had enough points earned that I only had to kick in about $150.00. So tomorrow or the next day, I'll become a Laundry Equipment Technician.

So, did your washer/dryer exit the rig through your emergency door? Or did I misunderstand?

It was just pulled out of the cabinet to replace parts. Remained in the coach.
