How To Whirlpool Front Load Washer Error Code A-10

Did laparoscopic surgery on ours yesterday. Instead of taking everything out…I just removed the bellows keeper, the loath and door closed switch, the three screws at the bottom and pulled the bottom away far enough to swap out the pump. Ours has been an issue intermittently…but three pairs of shorts wouldn’t drain…c’mon. How small a load can you go?

We’ll see if a new pump will have the power to get us back to normal for a while.

When I read the manual…it appeared to me it said I remove the front without taking the top panel and control panel off. After following their steps…the front panel wouldn’t just come off. It was attached at the top. I tugged in it a bit…but it wasn’t going to just pop off, like I thought.

I am looking at your photo with the front off…trying to see the fasteners that may have been holding it. Was it screwed down? Or was there just a clip??? For the top corners of the main front panel?

Inquiring minds. I don’t think this will be the last time I’ll need to repair the machine. And I don’t relish disassembling the entire closet for the unstacking procedure. If I could simply remove the front panel below the control panel life would be a lot better.

I don't remember, it's been a long time. I did break the knob in the process and had to 3D print one which worked out fine. I don't remember if even doing all I did was the fix. I don't know if there is a way to back flush at the drain as that seems like it would be the option to clear the issue. Also removing power for a period of time. It's been reliable since this incident I posted, it works well, just have to keep the loads small and not do like I do at home with monster loads going over a week etc. I know you said you had only a few items in the wash, not sure what happened but hopefully it will just clear.

I found a YouTube video...and there are two screws that hold the front panel on, which cannot be accessed without removing the control panel first. If I ever take it apart again...I may drill access holes thru the control panel plastic to enable getting to the screws without taking the stack out to remove the top panel, and control panel.

Hopefully the new pump will give us good service for at least a while.
