I ordered a kit to replace the plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and oil filter.
When removing the plugs, the right cyl plug is behind it and impossible to see. You have to feel to find it and put spark plug socket on. You have to use a universal on the socket with at least a 6” extension.
Now...
I just completed a trip to Florida flat towing my 2008 Jeep Wrangler. I did not have any problems, but here is what I think about vs dolly and trailer. Mind you this is really about just towing mostly and what I experienced using my 2016 Georgetown “gasser”
FLAT TOW: Driving seems a little...
In our planning and getting closer to departure I decided to check my motorhome insurance to make sure everything was ok going through Canada. What I found out was the insurance was fine, but you are required to have a Canadian Insurance Card or (ID). Apparently more information is required on...
Doing some research and admittedly I’m not very smart about this stuff, but I’m trying. I also looked at previous posts, but I didn’t see anything so here goes.
I have 4 lead acid 85AH batteries with a Progressive Dynamics converter/charger model PD9270 13.6 amps output.
I’ve read/heard you...
Hello all,
I just wanted to share what I did setting up my Toad for the first time. I did ask a few questions on setup here on another thread and everyone was most helpful.
i am a DYI kind of guy with a mechanical background and I do tend to look for deals when I can.
I went out on...
We’re getting our Jeep set up for hauling around. I picked up a Break Buddy to use. In the manual it says to plug into the accessory output of the vehicle being towed. Of course with the Jeep it requires the battery disconnected since you have to leave the ignition in ACC to unlock the...
Hey guys, I know many of you have flat tow vehicles. Well, we have been using a dolly to bring our Nissan Rouge with us. The dolly works fine baring it dragging the road once in a while going across dips and things, but we decide to try the flat tow thinking a simpler setup, plus getting...
I was doing some general cleaning on the RV and decided to wash and clean the Generator/engine. After cleaning I was drying the engine and noticed material hanging out of an air baffle. This baffle controls the air cooling path across the cooling fins of the piston cylinder walls. It looked...
We’re planning our trip from Tn to Alaska for next year. Looking through threads I have not seen what you can or cannot bring food wise in your rv.
Looking on line my initial findings is there’s quite a few things you can’t bring.
I’m looking for on hand experiences.
Thanks,
Mike
We came up for a Slingshot gathering in Maggy Valley. Stayed at Ela Campground. We tend to like it. Nothing fancy at all, but the rates reflect that. Nice people and easy to get to all kinds of places in the area. Close to Deep Creek Winery as well. Mom enjoyed that. She bought 2 cases of...
Made some upgrades to the MH. Back last year as some of you know I removed the king bed and put in a queen and added lower bed storage that I did not have before. When installing I added an additional 12v power source available for the future. Now I got a chance to use it.
I added to wall...
This will be my first time boondocking this weekend. Going to watch the Talladega race ans staying at a free, no services campground.
Question; would you run your gas generator while away for 3/4 hrs?
Doing some work around the shop and walked around the RV and looked down behind the front wheel. We had some extreme cold last night which is the only thing I could think of that caused the crack. The fender is plastic, not fiberglass. Guess I’ll figure out how to fix this now.

Hey guys,
I changed my oil the other day in my RV getting ready for 2023. What found was my oil filter was only finger tight. Literally no effort to spin it off with 2 fingers. I am really surprised it was not gushing oil. The previous oil change was done at a dealer. Now this is actually...
In another post I showed how I installed side lights in front of the front tires to give me better light while turning. Instead of wiring to the turn signals, I wired the to another switch so I could turn them on at anytime. Glad I did. On the way back from Fl last weekend it was a cloudy and...
Left on Sat from home it was 22 deg with my 91 yr old mother and 2 dogs. Stopped n Cartersville Ga. and dropped my mother off at my little brothers house so she could visit through Thanksgiving. Then headed down I75 to Orlando to visit my daughter for Thanksgiving. Stopped in Unadilla for the...
When most are winterizing their rv’s, I’m getting ready for a trip. Low temps just hit 19 deg, but have the MH plugged in to 110 with an oil filled space heater. The on board propane heater is also set if the space heater can’t handle it. The PAC is turned on and all the cabinets are open...
In an earlier post I said I wanted to change out our king bed and go to a queen. The factory king was just stuffed in the slide out with no room on the sides. There was a cheap metal frame under it and no storage.
Well I made a box frame and mounted the head of it to the slide out, then put...
