Dash Air Conditioner Compressor Failure AGAIN

Something sounds fishy. I believe a seized compressor warrants a line flush, and new filter/drier/accumulator... I would also double check the low pressure cutout switch to make sure the compressor clutch is released if the refrigerant charge is low. When you get a new compressor it comes with...

Generator not powering the AC or Microwave or internal outlets

Before replacing things...identify the failure. I have only worked in one Sprinter, ...(Airstream Interstate) but I like to work backwards from easy to difficult. 1) make sure house cutout is turned ON, some models shut down power and inverter when in the store position. Airstream added an...

    Oil change interval confusion

Freightliner recommended 1-2-3 in their Fireside Chat literature. 1 being the annual oil and filter change, 2 being the engine air filter, 3 being the desiccant cartridge, etc... I saw the change to 18 months. The problem is...I am just hitting retirement. We want to travel sometime...

    Question Air brake lock

The cnc metal ones caught my attention...and prompted me to design something I could use. Loved the testimonial about a guy stopping to go into a shop, to find his coach rolled into something after his pet bumped the switch off. Plastic works. You would think the metal would give you added...

    Question Air brake lock

I designed a version that has eyelets to pass a padlock thru. That's the one to use when you are crawling underneath the motorhome, or have small children with thumbs. The other version just snaps on and off with a click. Great for pets. Unfortunately, the brake switch installation varies...

Question How Does One Change the Generator Oil Filer on 2024 Thor Aria 3401?

I fibd the best thing to do is google the owners manual or look in the bag that came with your rv. I did some work on my Dad's 4000 watt LP generator on his Airstream. I knew it would be different than my QD8000 generator. I looked at the Data plate and googled it. Downloaded the .pdf and...

Demco Air Force One Check Valves

https://www.etrailer.com/s.aspx?qry=demco+check+valve&furl=-vw-1-pg-Accessories_and_Parts I actually looked at my initial install and I see two green/black check valves. So, I had them cancel the initial order and ordered two. I'm not much for messing around with see if?...I just want to swap...

Demco Air Force One Check Valves

My Air Force One is from 2016...SMI was the company at the time, before it got rolled into Demco. I have mushy brakes sometimes. I recently pressure bled the brake lines with fresh fluid and performed the ABS procedure. It helped, but I have always wondered if the check valves could be the...

Air Dryer Purging when Engine if Off

I read your thread and you were on the right track. I don't know the model you have...but they generally work the same way. To purge, there needs to be air. With the compressor not running or running but unloaded...[ie at cut-out pressure and not bled down to cut-in pressure]. Once the purge...

Question ❓Riddle me this Batman (LiFePo4 vs. Vehicle Alternators)

If your rig is setup to charge, you could modify it. Just try to make sure the a battery of some sort is wired thru the breakaway switch for the trailer brakes. Don't think you have to worry about the alternator being over taxed if the breakaway cable has been pulled.

Question ❓Riddle me this Batman (LiFePo4 vs. Vehicle Alternators)

I believe the problem is not one of voltages. It is in the internal resistance of the batteries. The LiFePO4 battery has a low internal resistance…tag a bunch of them together and it’s almost like dropping a metal bar across your battery terminals. The amperages are driven up and the poor...

    Major battery service blunder!

It defies logic. Absorbed Glass Mat, means the electrolyte is impregnated in a glass mat…so having lead plates submerged in liquid electrolyte is by definition a flooded lead acid battery. If you can sample the solution in a hydrometer…it’s flooded. The manufacturer has somehow misled people...

    Air level system

Here’s an example of the Freightliner reference for our coach.

    Air level system

Our coach is on a Freightliner chassis. But the ride height adjustment is usually something that would be dictated by the Chassis makers. You can peek under the coach. Our coach has a height sensing valve at the left and right front airbags. And a single height adjuster on the rear main...

    Major battery service blunder!

Interesting...AGM, as you mentioned...in my mind are maintenance free. My Lifeline AGM's have no place to add water. To me...you can have a Maintenance Free batteries...like our chassis starting batteries are. But, AGM. Absorbent Glass Mat. There isn't supposed to be exposed lead plates and...

Question Best place to buy OASIS Hydronic Heater service kits?

UPDATE: They responded to a Facebook review tonight on Messenger…and said they are processing orders as fast as they can. So, good to know they aren’t out of business perhaps as the BBB.org complaint had inferred. Had a nice conversation with Austin. They are moving from a 38,000 sqft...

Best way to get Maintenance parts?

Rusty, Any Freightliner shop can use the last 6 digits of your VIN to access Parts Pro. It filters parts for those specific to your coach. A lot of times…it’s a great way to find the parts you need in the road. However, not all are “Oasis” dealers… so, finding motorhome specific parts can...
