which coachman travel trailer has 2-way refers for off grid camping? Solar/lithium batteries not exactly affordable for retired folks. Propane is inexpensive compared to spoiled food when batteries go below 50% charge and fail. thanks
So picking up our new rv on Tuesday next week and already starting to think about upgrades. It’s a Newmar Ventana 4037 and is prepped for solar - whatever that means. Looking for advice on what steps we should be taking - mfgs., installers (we are on the Atlantic side of Florida), etc. We...
Not looking to upgrade solar system Just want to know what I can expect out of the system as is. The solar system was not a deciding factor when the RV was purchased. I considered it a perk, boy was I wrong. If I had known that it basically didn't do anything except charge the battery, I...
...to Quartzsite in two days and noticing the low sun this time of year in AZ I wanted to see what the numbers really are and prep for optimal solar positioning (park east/west to allow for tilt south). Here is a solar calculator for anyone interested primed with 1 PM Local at Quartzsite for my...
...Coachmen Freelander 21qb. Amazon has this does anyone know if this will work for me boondocking and watching tv and charging laptop? Thank you.

Folks,
I am considering using AMsolar solar panels. I like the AMsolar panels since they use VHB tape for mounting and hence don't need to drill into the roof. Folks that have used the VHG tape method for mounting have not had a issue w/ the panels detaching. I am planning to have 6 solar...
I just purchased a 2018 Roadtrek Simplicity SRT. I would like to add solar and would like to do it myself. I was going to buy a two panel kit, but it comes with items that are already included in the vehicle. Any recommendations?
...location long term (only one month but a record in one place for us) we are on metered power for the first time. Since we have pretty good solar, I’m trying to maximize the “free” power and minimize the metered power.
So what I’ve concluded is that I should have shore power off as much as...
I'm hoping the park availability will be like last year, we didn't stay in one park that was full.
@Neal you have enough solar you can stay anywhere and there is BLM land and many National Forest campgrounds.
Kevin, I'm of the same battery frame of mind as you. Our old 32' Bounder does quite well on 4 GC2 batteries and 860 watts of solar. No weather worries. No converting to Li needs. Guess those 82 candles I blew out this year, keeps me in the old school. GRIN!

Hi. I’m seeking feedback on the 3 seeming best companies I’ve found to install solar in my van. Please let me know which one you would pick. I am not very knowledgeable about solar so your help is appreciated. Please note many recommend install companies in Quartzsite, Arizona but those places...
I am aware there is no connection with solar, but most that I have seen go Lithium with solar panels for off grid camping. I just want to loose some weight on the drivers side of the coach and have power without having to worry about going below 60% SOC. I think I'm sold on LiFePO4, but just...
I have 6 100 w solar panels. Im not going to use the rig for a few month and would like to shut done all power to the rig. I'm thinking on shutting of the batteries and pulling off negative lead, disconnect a/c shore and inverter. Also, i was thinking to disconnect the solar panels by...
Hi Everyone
We recently experienced during a trip to national park that we cannot run generator during quite hours.
I have got a solar generator Jackery 1000 explorer to have my Refrigerator, fan and few lights running based on need.
