I am buying a V-8 1951 Ford Deluxe to pull an 18 ft 1955 Jewel. How do I prepare the Ford for this?

Not 100% sure what you are asking....Is the V-8 an original? Is the entire driveline original? How about the brakes? It appears you are wanting a vintage setup. Find a vintage hitch? Did trailers back then have brakes? If so find a vintage brake controller...
If I was going to tow with an original vintage vehicle, I would go thru the entire driveline and check it. I would also look for availability of parts in case of breakage, retrofitting newer components might get expensive. Check the cooling system well.
Please put up some pictures of it when you get it all together....
