Had a fun one yesterday… the summer loop pump on the Oasis decided to quit on us.. no hot water.. Luckily I had a spare on board, which definitely saved the day, but not easily..

That said, whoever designed the location of that pump deserves a talking to—it’s in a terrible spot. I had to drain the tank and pull the Loop 2 pump just to get access to the hose clamps for the summer loop pump. Not a fun job at all. Not alot of room for hose pinch pliers in that area.

On the bright side, I’m a little better prepared now. Put together a small kit with extra clamps, a short hose, and a drill-powered pump so draining and refilling the Oasis tank will be a lot easier next time.

You should count your blessings. Try changing it in a 37' DS. The box is mounted on the frame rail above the main unit and only accessible through the small bin in front of the unit itself. I wish it were mounted behind like the longer coaches are.

I've changed 2 out of 3. The hardest thing I've found....once in a position inside compartment is a good tool to crimp lines. Bought new hose clamps for this fix and they kept sliding off. Had more fluid leak than using old type vice grips. If you don't have a spare, you can turn the switch on top of the side box that tells whats running on the oasis. That switch will circulate hot water, then shut off after use.

The new Chinook will not give you hot water when you try to use the bypass switch.. Confirmed this with ITR since i tried it and it didnt work..

hose pinch clamps work great when you can get them in the position to hold.. the Loop 2 pump is in the way of getting pliers on the supply hose to the Summer Loop pump..

wow....that really stinks not having that bypass switch on for hot water!!
that might been my problem , not enough room for the pinch clamps...i just remembering going to a smaller vice grip to stop from clamp sliding off

i replaced those clamps with normal hose clamps that i can remove using a socket wrench...

I picked up some of these to crimp the hoses off when I did the rear heating pump.

It is a hassle and time consuming but, an hour and 10 minutes is much better than paying someone 😊
When I had my summer loop pump replaced at ITR in Vancouver, WA last year the technician allowed me to watch him do the work while he explained each step so I could do it myself if there was a next time (I also purchased a spare pump). He had a pair similar to these and stated that "...trying to do the job without them would have been much, much more difficult."

Best,
-Mark

Yeah, most of the time was spent getting two pair of those in there to crimp in and out hoses along with getting the spring clamps off.
