A couple of weeks ago I noticed that whenever my ITR Oasis fired up the summer loop pump was making a ton of noise. So loud my non-Newmar neighbors in the RV park were asking me if that was normal for the Oasis system. Now it doesn't whine as loud as it was, but it isn't distributing hot water anymore. I also noticed that the glycol has changed from bright yellow to a burnt brownish yellow in just the three weeks since the noise started. I have hot water for all of 2 minutes before only cold water comes out of any of the spigots. Even with the ITR firing up and running I still get cold water once I consume past those initial few gallons. I even tried the trick of bypassing the summer loop with the switch, but I've learned from my own experience and then confirmed with ITR customer support the temporary workaround shared by many online doesn't happen work on the New Aire 3543 (dang!). So after 4 days of very quick military showers I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow morning at ITR there in Vancouver, Washington. So glad they are only about 30 miles up the road from where I am. I think I see a spare pump in my future as well. Fingers cross they can deal with it quickly tomorrow since our house is up for sale the wife and I are full timing it until we close and then find our desired downsized home. What strikes me as odd is the rig is only 2 years old and I've only used it for vacations until three weeks ago; you'd think these would last longer than that...

It’s just astounding to me the short life of these pumps. Absolutely uncalled for with all our engineering abilities. You would think ITR would be concerned enough by now that they would have found a better pump or a new solution to the problem. Perhaps you can ask them while you are at their facility. I would love to know their response.

I had my summer loop pump replaced last November in Arizona by Damian, the Newmar Mobile tech. I full time and it lasted 2 1/2 years which didn't seem unreasonable, as it is a wear item, and it gets used daily. There is a later version which has a green end cap, which Damian had, and my original summer loop pump had a gray end cap. I can't speak to whether it is an updated version other than the end cap color.

All three of my pump are the same, so if needed I can swap the summer loop pump for one of the heat zone pumps. I have’s used Oasis heat in many years. My coach is 7 1/2 years old. We’ve been full timers for the past three and half time before that. The pumps have seen a lot of usage. I’ve had one pump fail and another was making bearing noises that I decided to replace it. I bought my replacement pumps a few years ago from US Solar for a fraction of the ITR pumps. They were all made by the same company, Topsflo. Each vendor puts their label on the pump.

My pumps made it around 6 years and then some didn't make it a year after that. Carry spares, I carry two, good idea on swapping them but I prefer to have new on hand and not mess with the fluids etc. Not hard, just unfortunate that it has a high fail rate it seems.

My visit to ITR went well and they had me fixed and back on the road within an hour. My Oasis on my '23 New Aire is of the newer design so the pumps were easily accessible behind the front cover. Given the rig was only 2 years old and had only 249 hours on it they did it as a warranty repair with no $ out of my pocket. Noice!!! That said I did buy a pump from them to add to my spare parts tub in the basement.

Their staff was extremely courteous and let me watch them do the entire repair so I could do it myself in the future should I need to while on the road.

In other news it sounds like the Vancouver, WA location will start doing some production to minimize the impact of tarrifs.

Best,
-Mark

Boy, I sure wish mine were that easy to get to! Did they give you any suggestions to try to alleviate pump failure?

Looking at your pictures it appears that your original summer loop pump has the gray end caps. I'm assuming the one ITR installed has the green end caps which is, according to ITR, the later version. Did you happen to ask if there were any modifications to the newer version?

Yea….i have the Oasis NE-S and it is easier to work on….
