Just finished resealing the roof (12 tubes of Dicor and around 10 hrs of work) and figured I'd tackle the next problem. Our Oasis burner has been running rich for a while now. Really smells of unburnt diesel and slight pops in the exhaust. I've had Randy do the services for the past few years at rallies, and mentioned it to him on the last one. He didn't have the parts with him of course, but he thought it could be either a fuel pressure regulator or combustion fan. Has anyone here had a similar issue and found the cure?

I'd call ITR. They are always great to talk to and can help troubleshoot and/or get you parts out the door same day.

If Randy thinks it is the fuel pressure regulator or the combustion fan, that's where I would start. Do the least expensive replacement part first and hope that solves the problem.

I doubt anyone on the forum has as much experience or knowledge as Randy.

After completing a test of the air compressor output with a pressure gauge, it showed only 5 psi coming out. I called ITR and they said it should be at least 10 psi, so that seems to be the issue. When I asked a price on the compressor, I stopped listening as soon as he said 4 hun... I asked if it was rebuildable, and he said they stopped handling the diaphragms as they changed to a different pump manufacturer. I pulled the 4 screws on the pump and saw the old diaphragm had cracked. Pretty simple unit with just a crank on a motor pushing a diaphragm. I started searching on line and did find a replacement diaphragm on line for 90 bucks shipped. Should get it in a week or so. I'm pretty sure this will fix the situation. 🙏

Interesting…will be watching. Had not heard of this oasis issue before…

Apparently, if there's not enough air pressure, it changes the fuel mixture by not siphoning the correct amount of fuel from the nozzle.

Pictures would be great to help educate the gang here.

Sorry about that. The first is one Randy sent me to check pressure. Here's a couple I just took.

Received the diaphragm today and had an easy install. Fired up the unit and happy to say it is fixed!

Great job. Can you post a link to where you got the part for others to reference in the future?

Yes sir! Newmar ITR RV Dynaflo Standard Compressor Repl Diaphragm PR0001014A 030874
Only showing one more in stock though, then it's going obsolete. :( If it goes bad again, I'll pony up for the newer pump from ITR. Also a tip for anyone doing this. The little brass inserts on the back of the pump flange tend to fall out as can be seen in the last pic, upper left corner. Easy to lose when reinstalling and pushing the screws in. I put the screw in each one to pull them in as far as possible before reassembly.
