We bought them. The original plan was to build our own but being this far behind schedule, we've resorted to throwing money at everything and hoping that we can get caught up. Well, "caught up" probably isn't the right way to put it, there's no way we will ever get "caught up". But we would like to get a little closer to the end goal at least.

Part of the problem out here is that finding people to work is very difficult. And when you do find someone, they have a different schedule than most people living in the city. For instance, Daniel is doing the plumbing, but he takes a week of every two weeks to go hunting or fishing. And he can't work when it rains, which it's been doing a lot of lately. So he is out of pocket for 14 days each month for hunting/fishing and another 5 or 6 days for rain-outs. That gives me 7-8 days a month that he will come to work. Try scheduling around that if you can.

And before you say "Just find another plumber. . . " well it isn't that easy. Most of the good ones are so busy they are booked out for literally months in advance. And because finding people to work is so difficult, the people in Highlands are throwing stupid money at them so that they will make their jobs a priority. Makes it difficult for people like me who are working on a budget.

The building department requires a "licensed" contractor to do plumbing, electrical, sewer, etc. So I'm not allowed to glue the pipe together and put a level on it to be sure it's flowing downhill. It takes a special license to do that if it's a commercial job.

It's very frustrating to say the least.

When I started this project I had figured on doing all the plumbing myself. But surprise, surprise. I got around that one time buy getting with the licensed contractor and was hired by him to do the work. He payed be a min salary to do the work. He made a little money, and I got it done when I needed it.

Electrical and Plumbing inspections passed.

Duke Energy sent out Sumpter, who is their trenching and wire installation sub, and next week they're supposed to start the trenching and installation of the power line that will feed the park.

All but finished siding the mechanical room and installed the plumbing that will supply water to the pressure tank that will supply water to the sites.

Installed cable for the two antennas that will supply WiFi to the park and I'm now waiting on the fiber that will go from the mechanical room to whatever that device is that supplies signal to the two antenna's.

Met with Lester, the gate guy, and I'm confident that his bid will be beyond what I have in the budget for a gate and the accompanying components that allow the gate opener to operate safely and not close on the side of a Dutch Star. . . While I think that Lester is a nice guy, I think he was looking around and thinking that he just rolled into a cush job and his bid is going to be cost prohibitive. I'm holding out hope that I'm wrong about his bid.

Sumpter dug the trenches, installed the power lines from where the pole will be and over to where the transformer will sit. Then they buried them. Tomorrow they will set the transformer and connect the wires from the transformer to the power service box(s).

Trish spent some time on the end of the rake and got the area in front of site 7 ready for grass, which I hope to have sprayed on Thursday. And at the end of the day, my duck friends dropped by for a swim and to get something to eat.

Also hired a fellow to help me pull this whole thing together and I hope to have him working on the dog park Thursday.

Maybe put a donation box by the wood. I would certainly feel better after taking a few free pieces after compensating you for the effort of cutting it, drying it and stacking it.

After some thought, I think we will do this. We have a friend who runs a charity for the homeless and people in need, children who can't pay for their school lunches, etc. So I think we will put up a box and donate the funds to her. Wonderful idea, @MapNerd!
