May I ask what gauge wire you ran to you 50 amp pedestals, and how far from the main panel?
I want to install a 50 amp service to my coach at my house. Thanks
I had my local electric company add mine. Put a 50A outlet at the garage end then I use a 50A extension cable to go from outlet to coach also using coaches cable extended.

Off the top, I don't remember DHudson, my electrician friend ordered/purchased a 1,000' reel of the 4 wire direct burial wire for the run from the main meter box to each set of two sites. My guess is that this is overkill for what you are doing. In my case, each run of wire handled two sites, but I'll check and see if the sticker is still on the reel.

EDIT: Most runs were 100'-150' long, although I had one that was 200' long.

Had our electrician wire ours to exterior back wall of garage as well. Interior routed in conduit, size 6 wire (30-35' run). depending on where I park, I can either reach with installed power cord or add 25' extension.

Depends on how far and what wire you use, aluminum or copper.
I'm going to use #8 copper but I'm only going about 6 feet from my breaker box in my shop. here's a good article with info:

It's important to do it right so don't just trust me or this one article, look up multiple sources.

When we started our 50 AMP upgrade, our electrician checked our main box. It was close to limit and the electrical inspector requested a load letter detailing loads on the box. The electrical inspector requested we either upgrade our house to a larger service or split the loads into a secondary load center. We went with the secondary load center.

I sure got more complicated than we expected, but these things happen. after we added a generator the year after our garage started looking more industrial than residential:)

Keep in mind most don't need 50A. 30A or even 20A is sufficient for "home" use unless you want to run AC's, etc. With that said, I do run AC's in the summer to keep it cool while loading/unloading but probably not needed. Generator needs some love at times too.

I put in a 30 amp rv service years back. Now I'm wishing I'd have put in a 50 amp. Doesn't cost that much more. I had a 30 amp trailer then though.
So now I'll have both a 50 and a 30...

Check me on this but I think 6 gauge will be good for 50amp 100’

30 will be good even to run one AC. Unless you plan to power everything up you may be good with the 30 amp service and an adapter 30 to 50.

Oh believe me I know that. I have an adapter hooked up to 30 amp right now.

Thank you everyone.

Nice layout Jim. If we get out your way next year we will stay awhile.

Now that the park is all but empty, we got some time to get the roof on the 3-Pines Pavilion. It's gonna be an awesome place with fireplace, pellet smoker and wood fired pizza oven.

That is a breathtakingly beautiful place. My dogs would love that grass!
Thank you, Jackie. It's almost Winter now, so all the trees have lost their leaves and the grass is almost dormant. You should see it in the Spring and Summer, it's really nice!

Great placement, very close to our favorite site. will be easy to fire up the pizza oven and quaff a few cold ones.

Thank you, John. It made strategic sense as it is slightly above the campground and will provide excellent acoustic delivery for those times when we have entertainment. Also toasty on those cool mornings as the sun shines in and warms the occupants who are having coffee and watching the sun rise. Then, for the rest of the day, it is shaded by the 3 large Pine Trees that is is built between. and provides a nice cool area to watch the game.

A rock stairway will make It easily accessible to the greater number of sites, with a private walkway that directly connects to sites #7 and #8. The is an access road that comes around the back for golf carts bringing food items and/or people who prefer to ride rather than to walk.

As expected, there will be a food preparation area with sink, running water and refrigerator. We will have a couple of ceiling fans, this time with dimmable lighting (yes, we learned from the gazebo oversight) and the outer parameters will be confined by a wraparound bar with stools, making plenty of space for entertaining and/or eating snacks or having (pineapple) pizza. Outdoor couches and seating will fill the interior areas and make the space comfortable for those games that go into overtime.

I think the 3-Pines Pavilion will become one of the best additions to the park of the 2022 season.

Perfect, sounds great. Get busy!!!! :p We will be in for Independence Day (2-13 July), will bring pizza fixings for sure. I remember beer seem to evaporate quickly in the higher altitude's, we will adjust load out to accommodate, if only someone knew of a brewery near by;) Would be shame to have to tap into bourbon stores....... or not! Keep safe, hope coach search is going well. almost done with hitch, crispy around the edges and squishy in middle.

Got the 15'X50' pad for Site 8 formed up today. Will add rebar and pour concrete next Thursday. Then it gets to cure for a few months before the first visitor parks on it. What a great improvement this is going to be for our guests!
