Correct. This has to do with how our goods are moved from ports on the west coast, as prior to this ruling Out of state trucks were forced to be compliant. If you own an RV registered out of State the CTC never applied anyway and if you own a CA. registered diesel RV over 14k nothing has changed, you're still required to pass an OBD or snap idle test before the vehicle can be registered.
This has impacted everything in our daily lives due to the associated costs.
It was also the basis for all 2025+ RV Chassis having separate CA designations. That was rolled back voluntarily by CA, but now it has been made clear that CA does not have the power to make future rulings affecting Non-CA residents RV lifestyle. Only those that live and register in CA will need to be compliant.
Further, EPA dismantling of CARB will affect all consumer vehicles, as to date they have been manufactured as 50 state compliant. This ruling will empower the separation further, allowing for the market to demand products that are legal and suitable for where they reside.
Regardless of how you view this action ( Positive or Negative ), its newsworthy and something we should all be aware of. It directly affects how you may choose to make future decisions.
