What/where is FOY?
1500 Spa Rd, Niland, Ca off hwy 111 about half way down the east side of the Salton Sea. Its a West Coast Snow Bird locale with a lot of folks from the NW US and Canada. Low of 46, high of 75 right now.

Noticed it a bit on I-5 a little north of there, but no odors at HR. Guess the wind was in our favor. I noticed a much bigger e-car charging area where the big gravel lot used to be open to boon docking, and saw a sign announcing the soon-to-be RV park. We also always used to stop there when traveling home in stike teams after a few weeks on big fires in the LA area.

And no, no slab city for me. We are now at FOY for a month of e-biking the trails and enjoying a mild climate. They are having a “street party” tonight and we had a good soak in the mineral hot tubs.

5 in the Chattanooga region, brother reports from far Eastern Maine that the winds were as powerful as he has ever seen from the East quadrant. Power out everywhere and many trees down. Temps dropping fast up there now.

35 in Pioneer FL. Wind blowing 15 mph at least.

-6 this morning. Still no power.

-6 this morning. Still no power.
You're just on the wrong side of town! Iotla Valley has power. I just spoke to my Mom. My cousin lost power (Upper Burningtown) but she is on an oxygen machine and got put on the list for power to be restored quickly during an outage. So her power got restored by 11AM.

They were out here at 5:00 last night. Cut the downed trees and repaired the lines, and then left. The power was back on for everyone in our area except for my house, the barn and a cabin that is on the property. I don't think they realized there was damage to the transformer that feeds our house, so they naturally assumed that they had fixed the problem.

50 in Fort Myers currently, will be in high 30's tonight and tomorrow, then forecasted to be back to "normal". I'm looking forward to normal again!

North Central Texas just south of Dallas
Thursday got down to 20 degrees. 25 mph north wind, over cast. drizzle off and on.. no ice on roads.
Friday night 9 degrees. Mild north wind.
Saturday 8am 22 degrees.
1pm 33 degrees
No rain/snow

My back yard finally crept above 0° F this afternoon for the first time in 72 hours or so. It'll be back below 0 tonight, though.

Goings several days with the temps below 0 is not all that unusual here. It does seem to be happening a bit early this year, though. I wonder what January will be like!

Update from Sarasota, FL. It's 35 here at 8AM, light breeze. It will drop another degree or 2 over the next couple hours and then start it's warm up.

A "balmy" 16 degrees in Virginia this morning!!;)
BUT, an even warmer 27 degrees, at home, in St. Augustine!

All about "time with the Family"!

Y'all stay WARM!:coffee:

71 and sunny today in Monterey Ca.
Feeling just a little guilty when I know much of the country is in bitter cold. Monday we get a nasty storm though with high winds and lots of rain. Bring it on Mother Nature we need the water in these here parts.

It was -6C (22F) in Billings Montana this morning. It started out clear and bright for our trip to Great Falls. It's about 220 miles so about a four hour drive. Not today. We ran into some blizzard conditions so we arrived about 6 1/2 hours later. See the video (patched 4 clips together) and see pics of our ice coated rig upon arrival. All in all, the drive wasn't too bad but it would have been a lot better if folks driving in bad weather would learn to turn their lights on!

No, no and NO! Glad you made it though, those are some pretty nasty conditions to be driving a big rig!
