Thanks in advance to the hive for all the info so far. Moving from FW to a MH has been a learning experience…and a fun one so far!

Our 2003 DS 3803 has an HWH 310 Series manual leveling system. The control panel has the following buttons: On, Off, Store, Dump, Front Up and Down, Back Up and Down, Left Up and Down and Right Up and Down. I cannot seem to get the air to dump from the suspension.

Here’s the interesting thing…the factory manual conflicts with the factory training offered online. The manual says that to dump air we are to 1) place transmission in N, 2) set the parking brake, 3) place ignition to “accessory”, 4) press “On” button on the HWH panel, 5) press “Dump” button on the HWH panel until all air has ceased exiting the system. The factory training says the same thing for 1) and 2) but to 3) the ignition must be “On”, 4) and 5) remain the same.

So, if I do what the manual says, no air dumps. However, if I do what the online technical school training says, air will begin to dump, but if I let off the “Dump” button, the air bags begin to refill (I believe from standing outside the last time). Is this correct. Should I have the ignition (and engine) “ON” (the air will not dump with engine off and key simply in the “On” position).

It seems as if each of these systems operates differently, so any help from someone with or who has had this system is greatly appreciated.

These steps are correct. At least on my 2005 Dutch Star anyway. No need to hold the button. Once pressed it will dump all air. Then you will need to let the system go through it's store procedure before it will air up again. I recently had to replace the dump valve for not airing up / dumping reliably. I ordered one from spartan and it was an easy replacement.

Before doing anything block the frame so you don't get crushed.

I would start by disconnecting the dump valve and use a multimeter to confirm the pad is actually sending a signal to the valve. There is a manual button on the valve to force it to air up so it will probably force a dump too.

Kenny, thanks for the info. So I guess if none of my valves are opening when the key is in “accessory” position as noted above, then I probably have an issue with the control panel or a solenoid…

Sounds that way. If the rest of the functions of the panel are working I would tend to think it's the dump valve. They do go bad but it's an easy replacement if you are comfortable working under the coach.
