I HV 3 thick red battery l cables 3 thick black cables 2 ground wires I think , a green thin 2 thin red 2 white. All of which are being connect Ed to the main ( only 1 marine) battery.. I'm not sure which ones I use or anything about ground wires. Do I need ground wires to assist in the charging of the battery with the downstairs. Right now I'm having to take my battery to survive to have it charged

I see a radiator, so I assume this is a motorhome? And this is the chassis battery? Yr make and model would help. Usually all reds go to positive terminal and all blacks to negative. Not being sure what all the wires are for, it is difficult to advise. What do you mean drainage problem? How much drain in what time frame? Have you used a meter at the battery? Have you load tested the battery? How old is the battery? Safest thing to do might be to call the manufacturer of your rig. then when you get the wires set up properly, take a picture.

Check all the black wires and white wires with lugs on them for continuity with ground. That will sort a lot of this out. The big red one on the right with tape on it looks like an engine or generator starter cable. The two reds with the lugged ends most likely go to positive. That should get you started.

Is this an old class A? Did you get it this way? More information is needed and helpful, especially for electrical problems. My rule is to always take pics before you start disconnecting things - a little late here but it might save you trouble later.
