Phase one complete,
:) Camping world had it on sale for only $20,99 per gallon.View attachment 31372

Charlie, after filling the main unit, approx how many gallons did it take to fill the two heating loops? Trying to estimate how many gallons I need as my Ne-s needs nearly 14 to just fill the unit.

Thanks
Rich
Sorry...I wasn't paying too much attention to what the Oasis loops consumed. My CH50 doesn't hold as much... I had leftover fluid from 3 x 5 gal pails. You have more than I would need for my system. I didn't mind having extra to keep on hand for topping up as needed.

Gotcha. No worries. I looked up the Ch50 with the its distribution module and it takes about 8.5 gallons. How much do you think you had left over of the 15 gallons of mix?

At least three clean...maybe four.

May have been some trapped fresh water from flushing. I flushed with DI water and then blew the system out with regulated air pressure before filling the system with fresh fluid. I have zero clue if maybe some low points held water, or how much laid in the bottom of the Heating unit's tank.

Perfect. That gives me a guess of how much fluid to have on hand. If you had 3 or 4 left, that means you used 2-3 for filling the lines (or had some residual fluid left behind). I have about 17 gallons on hand…but may want another 2 or 3 more to be sure. I figure I could always return unopened gallons or keep them as they never go bad.
Thanks.

The hard part is flushing the system well. Getting the old fluid completely out of the pumps and thought the entire hoses. That takes time! Ijust helped my brother fluid was $22.99 a gallon at camping world in Claremount FL. If the ph isn't below 7, no need to change it. Color of fluid in system means nothing. according to ITR

I wonder if something should/could be pumped through to perform any cleaning?

Has anyone actually tested the pH of their ITR OASIS? I have not, probably will and see what it shows someday.

That makes sense (about getting the old fluid out). They say to flush with water, but then how do you know if you got the water out? They mention using a compressor at low pressure (10lbs). I was thinking that I would just use the compressor to push out the old fluid. Any remaining old fluid should be such a low amount, that once it mixes with new, it should be ok. Especially since you add between 8 and 15 gallons.

I also agree about the ph, but mine is getting so old, I would rather err on the side of caution. A few hundred dollars of fluid or $5,000 for a new unit?
