Going to depart Seattle with destination Phoenix. Departing Friday following A Thursday holiday with the intention of driving all daylight hours until arrival.
My question is which route is best for this time of year? My priority would be least amount of road stress not hours driving.
TIA

You have two choices. Come down I 5 and then head east to Phoenix or take a route through Boise and SLC. If it was me, I’d go down I 5 because I want to avoid any snow travel. Checking the weather constantly is a must and plan accordingly.

Yup 1-5 to 58 to 40 and then down to Phoenix on 93. I’d avoid as much mountain travel as possible and also avoid LA although I’ve done alright on 5 to the 210 to the 10 the last few times and Im doing it again this year on Dec 25. And of course 10 takes you right to Phoenix. You can get some snow on both 5 and 58 but its usually minimal. But as Sheridan says, watch the weather closely. What are you driving?

Yeah, I-5. And 58 over to 40 will be fine with that rig if you want to avoid LA. Lots of truckers on 58.
