Hello everyone! It's been a little while since I have posted, but as I was planning some trips this year I was considering Big Bend National Park National Park for the End of December. Has anyone on here camped in Big Bend NP at the end of December? Was it to cold, or was everything pretty nice? Just curious before I try to book a trip there this winter.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

We arrived at the Rio Grande Village NPS Campground on November 16 2018. It was hot! We did not reserve thus no services and even the "no service" section was super busy. We kind of hid on the side until we saw folks packing up then quickly grabbed their spot as soon as they pulled out. Reserve is a must. It is a remote location but lots to see and do. If you do go make sure you visit Boquillas Del Carman, Mexico (you will need your passport). To get there, you can pay to have a boat take you the short distance across the Rio Grande or you can wade. Then you can pay to ride burrows, horses, the bed of a truck (or walk for free) the aprox mile to the village. There is not much at the village but lunch was great (2 Cantinas) and the experience to get there was worth every peso. It's on our bucket list to do the Big Bend again but we will reserve this time.

Safe travels
