See in the picture, one of the slides isn't closing all the way at the bottom.
What could be causing that.

Thanks

I'd try opening it all the way, check for obstructions, then close it all the way again. If still no luck you may need to reprogram the slide controller. But if it's been working fine, I'd be taking a close look for something inside the house side as well as outside for obstruction first and foremost.

Your best scenario is it just needs the travel adjusted.

Check to see the slide locks are moving freely. I had problem with one bedroom lock that was not moving well. Dutchstar Don did a great writeup on how to clear them. I will look for it

Here is "within the thread" of lubricating the slide locks.
If the actuators (at the bottom corners of the front and bedroom slides cannot be moved by hand they need to be lubricated. Mostly from the top down from outside on a ladder.

Will check for obstructions.
It's the bedroom slide not sure what motor it has.
The link takes me to another site. Is that right?

The link is the Resources area of this site. It's a little confusing, click the Download button at the top right of the page it takes you to and that will get you the PDF attached.

The slide controller is likely on the chassis rail in the bay forward of your pegboard bay.

Will read up on this.
This is all new to me.

Pegboard bay?

Thanks

Pegboard bay?
Maybe yours doesn't have one, check the passenger side aft bays on the chassis rail for electronics. It may be a good idea to call Newmar support.

Did some reading. Still lost.
What is this. What does this do when it closes.
Looks like that may be stopping it from closing all the way.

When the slide comes in that paddle pushes the slide lock on the inside top of the slide up to secure the slide. If you look at your slides on the inside top, fore and aft, you'll see the white paddles that come up and push against the wall to secure the slide.

Controllers look like this - there are likely 2 that are same model (bedroom and Living room small slide)
They will likely have flashing red numbers that change and will be different. Model could differ -

Note: One of mine is unplugged as a scaffold is up the side of the coach in front of the bedroom slide out... So that is my "old man safety system..

I see the paddles.
Will look for the controllers.
What could cause it to get out of adjustment.

That’s the concern. For my issue the controller was bad.

I would try rebooting the slide controller by removing power from it for over a minute. I don’t know if the 12V disconnect “salesman switch” at your entry door takes power from the controllers but I’d start there. Turn off 12V power for over a minute then back on and retry. Otherwise disconnect the connectors from the slide controller to take power away and reconnect and retry.

Good point Neal - I have had to remove the power plug at the controller for 3-5 minutes multiple times to get them to reset. The power in the ones on my coach is on the large connector at the top near the red LED numbers - pinch the plastic clips to remove. very simple.

Moved the slide out far enough to work the paddles.
The good news.
They appear to be working good. When I pull them against the slide the slide locks pop up.

The bad news.
When moving the slide out the motor ran for a bit before the slide started moving. It did go out.
But when trying to retract it the motor just ran it never moved. Then heard some snapping sounds under the bed.
Now the slide is inoperable.

What kind of mechanism runs this slide.

Sure am glade this happened before our first rip in September.

I believe your slide gearbox just gave up. Have you tightened the gearbox bolts? I think it is recommended to do it yearly. Mine got checked every six months.
Empty under the bed, remove the 4 screws holding the floor panels in place under the bed. Then you will have to crawl in there with a flashlight. You should see a shaft going to the gearbox. Check the bolts on the gearbox. But, from what you have said, you may have to replace the gearbox. Good luck and let us know what you find.
