I've been thinking of starting a thread where I (and others) can post some of the craziness that takes at the RV Park. So let me start this thread off with today crappy happening.

Preface: At our park, we have 2 sewer connections at each site. This helps accommodate the newer rigs that have two sewer outlets as well as longer/shorter rigs that may need to access the sewer from different locations.

Today a departing guest was dumping his tanks. Instead of using either of the sewer outlets, he dumped into the 4" pvc pipe (with the green cover that says WATER) and goes down into the ground where the water on/off valve is. So now we have 2.5' of human waste filling up the PCC pipe that protects the water valve from freezing.

When the waste started coming over the top, the neighbor yelled at him and told him what he was doing wrong.

And no, the guy didn't even bother to tell us what he did. He just high tailed it out the park.

That's no bueno! Hopefully this wasn't after taco Tuesday or a corn on the cob eating contest. I'd say it might be worth trying to fool proof where tanks can be dumped but then the world just churns out a more capable fool.

And I have no idea how I'm going to get 2' of human waste out of the pipe. I may have to call a sewer pump truck and have him suck it out. But they charge $500 for a visit/pump.

Guest isn't going to like getting that bill.

Wow. That’s a level or twelve beyond ignorant.

Stick a pressure washer wand with the trigger locked on in the hole then fire it up. The pipe will be poo free, everything in a 30' radius might not be. Best to do it right before a good rain.

Can you use your macerator pump from your rig to try to vacuum most of it out?
Then fill with water, vacuum — repeat half a dozen times, then bleach mixture after?

Doing this might cause a situation like that RV dump clip in Robin William’s RV movie.

Please come over. I learn from example so much better . . .

Small shop vac. You can choose to save for next time or throw away after use 😳. Much cheaper than sewer pump truck

The valve at the bottom is a stop and waste valve. I would dig it up, remove the contaminated soil and spray sanitizer on the pipe and valve. A 2 foot dig shouldn't be too hard. With this type setup there is a small chance of a cross contamination of black water entering the water system. That could turn into a liability lawsuit if someone got sick. If you have a powerful shop vac you could try to draw the mess up the pipe. The longer that stays in the pipe riser the more soil contamination you will have

@Jim ... I agree with @NWIP ... get a cheap wet vac and use it one time!

Yep, great idea Bill. I'll pick one up tomorrow.

A lot of people don't know this, but Neal got his start on the set of Boogie Nights. ;)

Oh my GOD.... talk about brain dead. But it really doesn't surprise me. Then to high tail it out of there without a word. I feel your pain. If you could see what some people do to their firearms, it is BEYOND the scope of my comprehension.

It goes something like this, ahhhhh could you possibly fix this? Or I decided to fix this and this is what happened...LOL

But I think a cheap shop vac is a goo idea ......... duh just wear gloves and goggles......LOL good luck buddy.

Don't foget signage that reads " DO NOT DUMP HERE!! "

At 3 of our sites, the fire ring is quite a ways away, a consideration that was made intentionally as many people I spoke with don't want the fire pit close to their rig. What we found was that just as many people gripped because the fire pit was too far away. (A classic case of you can't please everyone.)

So at these sites, we provide a Solo stove so the camper can get closer to his/her rig. I really didn't realize I had to post a sign to tell people NOT to put the Solo stove on the grass or on the deck. So what I was ending up with was grass with symmetrically round dead spots the exact same size as the bottom of the Solo stove.

The stoves don't get hot enough to start a fire, but the do get hot enough to kill the grass or leave an impression on the deck.

I'm seriously considering asking people to pass a common sense test prior to entering the grounds.

Oh my goodness I’m sorry that you have to deal with this stuff. Some people just don’t know things I guess!
