Streaming from cellphone to std flatscreen

I can tell you when I went to Best Buy to buy the Roku or Firestick they guy talked me into the Chrome Cast. He said it had more applications. What those applications are I do not know. I use it at home with my internet. The lightning/HDMI dongle however does not need wifi. It will replicate what ever you have on your phone. If you have something downloaded on your phone/iPad you don't even need cell service. I use the dongle in the RV.
