Canyonlands Gateway RV Park

I drove from Rifle, CO today over to Canyonlands just North of Moab, Utah where I will stay for 5 days. I am slowly making my way to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta the first week of October. I have spent a lot of time in this area on my numerous adventure motorcycle trips over the years so this is familiar territory. I will go out exploring in the Jeep driving some of the off road areas I ripped on my Adventure bike...

Two nights at Freightliner factory service. We were scheduled to be near Macon tomorrow, but had to alter our trip to stay in the area till Sunday to avoid the hurricane. Just paid the bill and noticed a bit of familiar advertising.

Bailed out from Freightliner after the deluge last night as most other coaches did before us.

Drove all of 7 miles to Iron City Campground in Blacksburg. We've stayed here before and they have really improved the place. We have a level concrete site with firepit, swing, gass grill and lots of patio room. 4 nights here to weather the coming storm and make sure the way south is clear.

Spearfish SD for a few days, good wifi, satellite and cell, nice place, good reviews for the Mexican restaurant next door, walking distance

I went out in my Jeep this morning and drove up Shafer Trail in Canyonlands National Park. I've done this trail on my adventure motorcycle and it was a lot more fun...

For those who remember the movie Thelma & Louise this is the cliff they drove their 1966 Thunderbird convertible off of.

Was funny when they pulled our Freightliner Superstar over to the bays this morning. Techs coming out from all over wondering what had pulled up.

Currently no power since this morning. Probably going to have to stay at little longer here depending on status of our next stop near Macon. Just got internet back. This place is a mess with all the trees and power lines down, not to mention the flooding.

Good to check after that mess of a storm.

We called our next stop in Berea KY and they are good. Have to check Cordele GA which should be our Sunday stop yet.
