Ridgway State Park Ridgway Colorado
This morning I left Moab and had a leisurely drive over to the West Slope of Colorado to Ridgway State Park. It is nice to have a spacious site as compared to the tight quarters I had to endure in Moab...

Ridgway, Colorado, Ouray County, is where the movie True Grit was filmed in 1969... John Wayne won his one and only Oscar, amazingly enough, for Best Actor in 1970 for True Grit.

We left Texas and we are on our way to Las Vegas. We stopped in Albuquerque, NM today at a very unusual park. It feels more like a storage facility than a park but for just a nites stay it will do. We leave tomorrow for Holbrook, AZ.

Hope you have time in Holbrook for the Petrified Forest, very nice NP, we always stay at Holbrook KOA, Daughter lives in Utah, Holbrook is a twice a year stop for us

the campground we are staying at says it’s like 1/2 a mile to the entrance of the Petrified Forest and we will be going there to have a look around. Is it a two day thing or can you see everything in one day ?

I went into town to have dinner at the True Grit Cafe but unfortunately it is closed on Wednesdays... Another interesting point of interest about Ridgway, Colorado is the Grammy Awards are made here.

One day visit is no problem

funny story, driving through the park last trip, a roadrunner crossed in front of us, 1/4 mile later, a coyote, was waiting for a giant hole to appear in the road...

We arrived to Holbrook, AZ. Very dusty here. Staying at the KOA until Saturday as we will be going to the Petrified Forest tomorrow to see what it’s all about.

Turns out they started doing the M2 chassis service only Dec, Jan, and Feb. Her boss asked about my appointment and she told him since I was here before I was gradfathered in. Nice that they still did mine.
