we landed in Santa Fe on 9/22/22, staying at Trailer Ranch RV Park. I don't think it would stay here again because the Verizon reception is exceptionally bad, the worst on the trip. One bar. We love southwestern cuisine and have eaten out more on this stop. There won't be any exceptional places to eat for the rest of our trip on the route we have planned.
We hit some beautiful weather - it's just perfect. Despite the cool temps, nice breeze, and low humidity, afternoon sun is brutal on our front windshield. Again we're thinking mag shade. More on that later.
The balloon festival begins this weekend, so we're leaving Saturday- we're not into large crowds.

I understand your frustration with Verizon reception but I have to add that we have stayed at Trailer Ranch several times and have always enjoyed our stay. It’s not the most beautiful place, the sites are mainly gravel but the people who run it have always been great and the park is clean. The best reason for staying there is the location! Just can’t beat it for visiting Santa Fe.

At The Ridge in Sevierville hanging with the Hoots for the week. Nice place as I'm sure many forum members have been here and will attest. Had a rather challenging group (about 18) jeep ride today at Outdoors in the Smokies. Dan, the veteran owner, was very hospitable and led us around the property. Highly recommended!

The Ridge in Sevierville, TN...a great place for the annual Hoots rally! 70 Newmars are gathered for a week of fun and sharing ideas and information. We had the coach washed and waxed, just in time for a nice drive through the remnants of Hurricane Ian to Franklin, NC . Great to see lostinfla and FLSteve in the same place!

Santa Fe Skies RV Resort, Santa Fe, NM

Missing @ARD, @NWIP, @Richpatty and the Balloon Fiesta gang that congregated here before we took over Albuquerque. I think that was 2019? Back for a quick visit and got severe balloon fiesta fever, serious FOMO, I will have to do the balloon fiesta again someday.

They fit me in and put me in a spectacular pull through where I got some drone practice in. I didn't have a dog last time I was here and NM both here and my next stop (current location) has prickly balls everywhere that get stuck in paws and every dang weed has daggers, it's crazy. Elli does not approve.

Verizon was the winner
AT&T usable
Starlink - not worth using if you have the above, definite de-prioritizing I think, it was slow

Wonderful campground with super friendly staff. I gained 112 lbs in two days.

White Sands Missile Range military complex, north of Las Cruces (typical FAMCAMP rules of use apply)

This was an epic fail in my desire to be near White Sands as discussed in another thread on this forum. Poor assumption that a military complex with the name White Sands wouldn't be near, umm, White Sands. Use the map daniel'saan...moron! I should have stayed in Alamogordo, amazingly I was stationed there and never visited White Sands NP. What I really would have liked to do was stay on White Sands NP itself, they do have a camping area that is the parking lot pictured below but it is closed for some reason. I would love to boondock there a few nights. My solar would be very happy!

Anyways, I'm on the army base and can't complain, great views, full hookup for $15/night and only 8 sites, half occupied (because they are smarter than I). so it's nice.

AT&T good, sometimes very slow
Verizon typically unusable
Starlink - no service for some reason. Las Cruces shows coverage, maybe it's this area is blacked out or not covered but was surprised to get zilch from SL.
