Made it to Elkhorn Ridge RV Park in Spearfish, SD. ?
ARD, I'd appreciate a report. We're arriving at Elkhorn Ridge on August 27 :)

J&D Campground I’m Catawissa, PA. Typically we would head over to Knoebel’s Grove to enjoy the rides and food but not this year with all the restrictions.

This is a nice quiet campground with a creek to play in and nice shade.Good cable, no satellite in our site, and cell signal is decent at best.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July!

Do you know what site you are staying in? I think the best sites there are 111, 110 and 112 followed by 86, 87 and 99. I was in site 75 which had an electrical issue. My generator kept coming on and L1 was flucuating between 114-116. The resort did nothing. They said the only thing the maintenance man could do was flip the breaker. Lawd. So no word from them til hours later when an Allegro came in and their Progressive SP kept alarming and they couldn't use AC. I ended up having to move to site 57 which was not bad. Nice yard. So sites 73, 74 and 75 are on the same electrical line. The park promised not to put in another rig in the site I vacated so the Allegro (who couldn't move because there wasn't another site available for 2 weeks) would have enough power. They put someone in that site and so when I left, he was still having issues. Site 71 and 72 are on different lines. From the map, you would think site 71 would be great, but the sites on the end like 55 and 71 will have bright lights facing your patio area from the guest offices building and laundry and it is quite bright. Sites towards the front of the park will get some road noise. Park was busy. I didn't really use amenities so I can't comment on them as I did daily excursions. The dog parks are nice. They have 2, one for small dogs and the other for large dogs. They also have a trail that I meant to explore, but between the bad weather, tornado watches and the playing in the Badlands, I never did walk it.

I hope ya'll have a great time. If you do the scenic drive around Spearfish Canyon, be sure to stop at Cheyenne Crossing for your obligatory Indian Taco and trust me, if you like carrot cake, you MUST have a piece. They make it there and it is soooooo good. ?

Thanks! That's quite the report. We will be in 104 unless something changes. We're going for the Hoots rally and may be moved closer to the Event Center as part of the planning committee. We'll be talking with Tyler in few days, so I'll be sure to ask if the electrical problems have been fixed. We'll definitely do the Spearfish Canyon drive and I'm all over obligatory tacos! And carrot cake. Thanks again for all the info.

Buddy, I was at Elkhorn about 3 weeks ago and experienced the same low voltage as Renee. Just make sure you have your AGS setup correctly anytime you leave.
When you drive Spearfish Canyon, make sure you drive up to Bridal Falls and continue to follow the gravel road past the beaver ponds and up to the back county. We had dinner one night at the Legends Steak House in the Franklin Hotel located in Deadwood. Reservations are a must.

Follow-on to my post above for Virginia Beach, VA. Here are a few shots of the largest dog park I've ever seen at a campground.

Made it to Elkhorn Ridge RV Park in Spearfish, SD. The people in SD are practicing ZERO social distancing. Feels much safer in MT than here. I'm hoping hiking some of the more remote trails will put me back in my happy place. Picked up an Indian Taco at the Cheyenne Crossing Store (had the veggie one in 2018 so it was a necessary repeat experience) and sigh, I admit I got their homemade carrot cake too...for later with my tea. Sooo good. ?

@ARD ,
Your coach always looks clean. With all your travels do you wash it yourself?
