Walnut Hills campground in Staunton, VA. It’s an older campground with a new-ish section called the meadow that is mostly pull thrus and can handle the largest of rigs. My site was 80’ long. The traffic pattern to get to this section of the CG is quite the chinese fire drill. You have to loop through the CG and head out as if you’re leaving. As we learned on this outing, parts of the CG flood View attachment 28496when heavy rain passes through. Several folks had to relocate within the CG. Other than that, not a bad stopover if you’re traveling along I-81.
I liked that place. Haven’t been there in years. Thanks for the tip on flooding. I was on top of the hill. Will make sure I request that again next time.

Drove over to Paso Robles and set camp at the Sun Outdoors here. Ready for our tour of the Hearst Castle tomorrow.

We’ve been both in the meadow and up on the hill overlooking everything. Either way it’s a nice, easy stopover along I-81

Deer Springs RV Park (where else, lol) Site #14 for a few days while I get my permanent parking spot spruced up a bit.

Moss Landing KOA. Located at a marina. Concrete pads which is nice. Will be doing the 17 mile drive around Carmel to Monterey. Beautiful weather here. View attachment 28577View attachment 28578
While the sites are tight at Moss Landing you simply can’t beat the location and the weather. Suggest a whale watching excursion or a trip on the Elkhorn slough boat. Both can be done at the harbor, 50’ from where you’re parked. We really enjoy staying there.

We are doing the Sanctuary Whale Watching Tour tomorrow, hopefully 🤞 lots of whales. 🐋. They are right behind us at the marina

Angel Fire RV Resort Angel Fire, New Mexico

I had a leisurely drive on a beautiful day from Creede, CO to Angel Fire, NM. New Mexico is one of my favorite states to spend time in and staying at the Angel Fire RV Resort is a spot I visit every year. On my way over to Angel Fire I drove up through Red River on NM-38 and slogged over Bobcat Pass which is the highest mountain pass in New Mexico with a summit of 9,820 feet. New Mexico is a state that gets overlooked by many individuals. Having spent a significant amount of time here over the years, in all areas of the state, it truly is the Land of Enchantment.

I will be here until the end of the month and then it's back up to the Front Range of Colorado. I need to be on deck for the arrival of another grandchild... My youngest daughter's first child... (y)

Drove away from the coast and went towards the mountains. We are at Yosemite RV Park, unfortunately it’s about 30-45 minutes from the entrance of Yosemite. Paved roads but gravel once you are off of them. Time to spend a few days in the park.
