Prairie Band Casino RV Park in Mayetta, KS. Just a bit North of Topeka off HWY 75. It's a regular little trip for us. Campground is open, no tree cover. Spaces are wide and pretty level, all FHU, and with a player's card from the Casino $27.50 night all in. Unless, of course, you get comped because you go there often. At that point, the rates become, um, variable. The craps tables were not my friend this trip.

We left Blanchard, ID today and drove over to Bigfork, MT at an owner resort park. It’s on the opposite side of Flathead Lake next to Polson motorcoach. Nice sites but they don’t have any furniture for us to use 🫣.

Monument RV Resort Fruita, Colorado
I left the Front Range last week and headed over the Continental Divide for the West Slope of Colorado. Fruita is a nice small town and the the RV park is just down the road from the Colorado National Monument and in proximity to the Grand Mesa. My timing was perfect as they had just started harvesting Olathe Sweet corn, which I have been enjoying daily. The drive on I-70 was a frustrating one as there are numerous ongoing road construction projects all along the way with lane closures. We all know how fun it is driving a coach, towing a toad, and the inconsiderate drivers making lane merging an interesting challenge. For anyone here be aware driving on I-70 between the Front Range and the West Slope you will have to deal with these road construction projects and horrible road surfaces.

Later next week I will be going back to the Front Range to meet up with a buddy and then it's off to the Bonneville Salt Flats for Speed Week. I will spend a week dry camping on the flats as we attempt to hopefully set some new records again this year. We are taking 6 motorcycles to run on the flats in various categories.

Lovin' the Trumpet! My first bike was a 72 Daytona Twin 500cc.

I've been riding Triumphs since the 60's... here is my 1968 Bonneville T120R which I still have and it's a daily rider.

Spending a few days at Crystal Creek RV Park just outside of Seaside, OR. Finally, a park with enough open space for picnic tables and a fire ring!!!

I pulled up in the toad and as I stopped I heard the long blast of a diesel air horn. My dog discovered it can blast the horn vs. bark. Great...

Best,
-Mark

@No Plan That Bonnie is a thing of beauty.

Stayed in Stanfield, OR. on our way to Blanchard, ID. This was a Pilot Gas Station with an RV park. It was actually very nice and with the a/c units running we couldn’t hear any of the trucks near us. View attachment 28859
If you do not mind me asking, how much does it cost daily to stay there? Looks nice.

TransWest RV Campground Frederick, Colorado

I left Fruita, Colorado this morning and drove down to the Front Range. I'm spending the night in the campground at my home dealer TransWest. There is 50/30 AMP service in the campground but no water/sewer. They do have a dump station and water if needed. Tomorrow morning I am off to the Bonneville Salt Flats!!!

The Regatta on Grand in Grove, OK. Right on the shore of Grand Lake of the Cherokees very near sailboat bridge.
Sewer connection was uphill and awkwardly placed which made dumping a challenge. There is new ownership at this park and things are obviously in transition. Many little maintenance things, like cleaning cobwebs from the patios are lacking and could be better. Each site comes with a propane grill, covered patio, and furniture. The furniture could use some updating and really basic cleaning would go a long ways.

There are two on site restaurants, both with very good food and atmosphere. You can call and order your food delivered to your site also. Margarita cart comes by at 5 ish every day with complimentary drinks for each site. Several Casinos within an hour drive, one within 5 minutes. Jet ski and boat rental right next door at Water Trix, the resort has a "concierge" service that will help you set it up and you'll get a 10% discount.

They are trying to be upscale, but have a ways to go. They have the right attitude, wonderful staff all the way from top to bottom, and in time, I think they will get there and justify the price. Right now, it feels just a bit too expensive for what you get...but it's close. We'll likely go back and see.

Dry Camping At The Salt Flats

Arrived on the flats Friday and it's has been a busy couple of days. I've been out on the flats with our team racing motorcycles... Long days starting around 6:30 AM and getting back around 5:00 PM. Some of our motorcycles have set new records. Unfortunately the motorcycle I'm Crew Chief on has been having some Gremlin issues. We are trying to get things sorted out and we well be back out on the course early tomorrow morning.

Currently heading north from San Diego to Seattle. Stopped at Lazy Horse RV Park which is on the Klamouth River near the CA/OR border. Lots of wild horses and the beautiful sound of water flowing downstream.

At the Mothership.

It is completely full and one coach had to stay across the street in the parking lot last night.

Newmar Academy starts tomorrow so today is wash the coach day.

Pics to follow after I get her cleaned up.

Will be doing a thread specifically on the academy with thoughts etc through the week.

@Deer Springs RV Park site #9.

This is their newest site, and it’s a winner. If you are looking for privacy and seclusion, it doesn’t get any better than this. It’s literally like boondocking with full hook ups.

The main part of the CG is a short walk away, and of course, the owners are without peer. Although the weather left much to be desired, it was a great three-night stay for the Neemers.

@No Plan, I probably have a stupid question, but I couldn't help but notice how rough the surface was when I drove on it. Is that the surface you race on, or is it smoothed somehow?
