Here is a link to the service manual. Note that the bypass switch activates the pumps for the two heating zones and not the summer loop pump. The heat exchanger for the hot water is in the distribution box with the pumps and activating the two heat circulating pumps circulates the transfer enough to also provide hot water.

The bypass jumper (activated via a switch mounted on the top of the distribution module zone board) can be used in conjunction with a purge pump to initially fill the system with coolant. When this jumper is activated, the Loop 1 and Loop 2 pumps turn on and push coolant through the entire system. Once the system is filled and purged of air, the bypass switch must be turned OFF.

In my opinion, you need to do the troubleshooting if you really want to put an end to this. You need to pull the pump distribution panel off and determine what's going on with the pumps when override is turned back OFF. You probably have one bad pump, the "summer loop". If you don't have spare pump(s) on hand, you should have ordered them yesterday, i.e. you need to have two spare pumps on hand at all times, in my opinion.
I've got 3-spares on board right now, so having pumps is not a problem. But I don't believe the pumps are the problem, and I don't want to replace pumps that don't need replacing, right?

Hang in there, we're quite close to having an answer when the Canadians start answering the phones tomorrow. And at that time, we'll know whether @NWIP will need to come by or not. . . :)

Let me help motivate you. The pump box is green, like a John Deere. Now let's get to it and get the job done! :)
Lord man, it's dark, I can't see anything in there. :) Can't we at least wait until tomorrow?

I put on the @NWIP light pointed to the sky, he should be suiting up soon, problem is it's cloudy here! And due to various reasons he has a hard time finding phone booths these days!

I will give you a $1 to just replace the summer loop pump! And if it doesn't fix your problem I will double it!

How do I know you've got the money? I'll need to see it first!

I guess replacing the summer loop pump has usually resolved the issue we've experienced, it's become our go-to answer even when it makes no sense.
I think Jim doesn't want us to see any pictures of him wedged in the Oasis bay is the reason he is holding out.

Well, I really want it to be that simple. But. . . I just don't believe it's the summer loop. I don't see how a malfunctioning summer loop pump would stop the rest of the system from working.

But I hope I'm wrong, and tomorrow we should have an answer. :)

Meanwhile, how long do you think it'll take @Neal to borrow 2 bucks?

Most likely he'll need to put up his airplane as collateral or get a payday loan.

I'm working on other issues first! I've tried for years to tell @NWIP the phone booth thing is out. He watches too many movies and is just not going along with it. I solved the problem, problem is there went the big money I was putting in towards the labor costs.
