Jim, my prayers go out to you and your family.

Jim, I "Host" a WIFI tower at my house. We barely had internet. This has been better than a hot Honey Bun with butter dripping off it. My cost was zero. And I get free high speed internet. The wife and I can each stream a movie at the same time in HD. I like to play online games and it works great. No lag. The company , Nextlink, got a lot of money from Uncle Sam to expand internet to rural areas. I bet there is a provider in your area doing the came thing. Your Congressman should be able to find out who in your area got money for projects like that.

I've been working with Senator Corbin in an effort to provide AT&T with grant money to put equipment on the existing cell tower that is about 1 mile from the park. So far there hasn't been any interest.

Question, did you go to Nextlink about the project or did they contact you? I would be thrilled to set up an arrangement such as this. And I have a place up on the mountain that would be wonderful for an antenna.

Edit: I just went to their website and filled out their contact form. Hopefully I will hear from someone!

Good luck!🤞

I noticed today that RVParky.com finally got around to adding Deer Springs RV Park to their listings. I've got some pictures uploaded, but there are no reviews yet. So maybe, if you've ever been here, could I impose upon you to make a quick (positive) reference? :)

Thanks in advance.
Finally ... I know I had asked them to add you several times early on and never heard anything back. Will go on and leave a review of our stays to get things started.

FLSteve :)

Put up a real, honest to goodness, super-duper, special-ultra-deluxe, flag pole today! I know, what's next, right? lol

Looks like I either put it up backwards or the wind is blowing the wrong direction. . .

Perfect Jim.

Actually they contacted me with a referral from a friend that was on the City council.
I would try to find someone else beside AT&T. They have to have the worst customer service of any company in the World.

So looking forward to getting down to your place, world has gotten even crazier then I ever though possible. need to unplug, turn off phones, cook over fire, consume frosty beverages, and recharge.

Jim you might want to look at Starlink for business and then look at this video for getting signal throughout the park.

I say for business because I believe it provides better quality for multiple connections at the same time. More expensive than regular starlink per month but far cheaper than any other possible plan.

Thank you, Janrey. I signed up for the business plan about 6 months ago. Still waiting for it to become available in our area. Fingers crossed!

If you were to get starlink in an area supported and moved, would they transfer your service.
Maybe we can get you a starlink for business at one of our fine members' address and then move a week or two later....

Jim I hear from some RVers to find an address where you can get it to put in but have it shipped to your address. It isn’t that it won’t work where you are but that they limit the number of people in your area at a time.

As the Pines Pavilion grows in popularity, we realized the need for a larger table. So yesterday, while at Lowes, we snagged this set.

It's just large enough to accommodate 6 people and still leave plenty of room for people to sit on the bar stools around the countertops.

Also picked up a small refrigerator for drinks, etc. Still have to build something for it to fit in.

Hey Jim,

Congrats on the park, I've enjoyed scrolling through your build pics and the website looks great. I have a suggestion for internet - look into Starlink if you haven't already. I got hold of the RV dish and it works great as long as it is not obstructed by trees. Since you can install a tower on a roof, obstruction should not be an issue for you. And I understand Starlink has commercial versions with very high speeds. Hopefully it could provide a cost effective means to get you a solid internet offering for your customers. While some folks have zero need for high speed internet, I am sure a fair portion of potential visitors would benefit from high speed internet. For some of us, wifi is a deal breaker since we are working remotely. Regardless, I think your park will succeed given how beautiful the land is. I hope to make it down sometime next year!

This place is amazing!

In the course of building anything, both infrastructure as well as rules must be developed. And today, I had to make a decision that I'm sure will bring mixed reactions.

Camping is an important part of growing up, and I hate to take that away from todays youth. But parents today have become quite lenient, and that has created a group of children who don't understand boundaries. And their parents don't seem to care that their children are disturbing the other guests.

It's not the kids fault, it's the parents. But regardless, the problem exists and it has to be addressed. So today, I added the following qualifier to our website and to the Deer Springs RV Park rules.

"While we strive to provide a memorable camping experience for everyone, our park is designed with a focus on the mature visitor. Children under the age of 3 are permitted, otherwise all visitors must be 12 or older."

I hate it, but the world is becoming a very rude and undisciplined place.

While I understand how this might have come to, it does sadden me that all are disqualified by the actions of some.

I have a 4 yo and an 8 mo and since joining the forum and following the original build thread, before I even owned my dp, I’ve wanted to visit.

All I can do now is wish you the best of luck and hope that one day you decide to change your policy.

Marc

I believe I have seen rules, that state that breaking of the rules, may result in asking the offending parties to leave, without a refund.
