Autofill is not part of this equation.
What I was attempting to say is that you always have water in your tank to augment the city water if needed. That’s why I said you probably have auto fill on to insure the tank has water when needed.

You may wonder what I'm talking about so here I go again!

What in the system allows the house pump to work as a booster pump?

I'll let that soak in and see if auto-correct kicks in.
