Absolutely! Someday she won't be there and you'll wish you could spend the day walking with her.

Dogs give you unconditional love. If you're gone 5 minutes or 5 hours, they are happy to see you.
Lock your wife and the dog in the trunk of your car, who is happy when you open it?
You can pet another dog. Your dog knows you did but they still love you.

Gunner wanted me to go out with him when I got home. I refused, huge John Deere with a planter planting our field behind my back yard.
He didn't understand.

Then I saw him fidgeting and took him out on a leash like we do in the resort in Florida. He loved the leash! I was surprised.
