Another lousy day, weather wise anyway. Pulled out and replaced the old faucets with some that Trish (My Wife) couldn't live without. I rate plumbing right up there with smashing my fingers, but this went smoothly enough. Well, as good as can be expected when you try to put a 6'1", 235lb man inside a tiny little cabinet. :(

So yeah, I see the pictures didn't turn out with a darn. That's because the pictures are of a plumbing project, and because I suck at plumbing projects, I should have realized the pictures would suck too. ;)

Nicely done?

Trish was watching "Christine on the Coast" and I hear her holler at me to come see something. I expected to come in and see a GSD or something. "Look at the TV" she says. "See anything you recognize?" Looked at the TV and lol, there were the faucets we installed yesterday. Different finish, but otherwise the same.

Apparently, Christine has good taste in faucets... :)

We use a larger dehumidifier when we are not using the RV. We place it in the shower and let it drain into the gray water tank.

Jim,
I kind of doing the same thing. I bought a fixer upper for a lower price. I redid ours to fit our needs. We got rid of the booth type seats and table and added more seating. We use a folding table and chairs if we want instead. Then we got a reclining sofa with the center folds down for cup holders and power.

Just giving you ideas. Nice thing is you get to build it to fit your needs.

I'm leaning toward a dinette very much like this one. It would fit my coach well.

lol, didn't like that one, huh? :)

I want to know how you did your floor? Did you do the work yourself?
Yes. Pulled the old vinyl rolled floor out. Replaced any wood that was damaged and put the new plank type flooring in. It goes in pieces.
Where I though there was too much distance between the frame I use angle aluminum on the bottom for reinforcement. Originally the thought the foam would help support the wood. But over time it will collapse.255FAA63-3B71-4768-9F37-E534B043D758.jpeg3698C44B-94C5-4262-9FDB-C27A5C4D62C0.jpeg540BEF87-A55C-498D-9F89-C237436C34BA.jpeg

That's a lot of work @BGMAC. Believe me, I know! I had a 35' Thor Windsport with the same layout as yours. I removed the old vinyl and carpet, then installed plank flooring and trimmed it out. In the end, it was very nice. But as you know, it's a whole lot of work. I would still have it today but living in a mountainous area, I found a diesel fit my needs a little better than the V-10.

Silly question, but where do you eat? :)

WOW!!! @Jim that looks fantastic! Yes it is quite a bit of work, but in reality I think we like working on things as much as using them. I’m a retired enlisted guy and while in service we never had much money. We always had to buy fixer uppers at a good price and fix them up to use it. Whether it was furniture, cars or the house we lived in, but it was fun times too. Twila and I have still have the same mindset today I guess. We tend to work and build our own stuff, It just takes us a little longer nowadays.

OK, back to our regularly scheduled program. :)

When you buy a used motor home, every salesperson will tell you , "This motor home has been well cared for and loved by its previous owner..." What this actually means is, "The tires and batteries need to be replaced, the roof is questionable, and you can expect to do a lot of TLC".

I've already replaced the tires and batteries, so now I'm working on some of that TLC. And today's TLC meant tearing out the old carpet in the bedroom and getting ready to install new carpet on Wednesday. (Weather permitting of course.)

If you ever get the opportunity to pull the carpet out of a motor home bedroom, don't. In fact, run the other way as fast a possible. It's a bear and I'm not kidding. Some of the carpet is glued and some of it is stapled. Seperating the carpet from the glued areas is a nightmare and in the areas where it's been stapled means pulling out millions of sharp, nasty little staples And there are lots of small, hard to get in areas that will simply ruin your day. I'm about 3/4 of the way through and really not looking forward to tomorrow.

But here are a couple of today's photos.
