The "quiet time" rules are probably the most abused during the weekends at some campgrounds.

There have been a handful of occasions when we needed to get on the road early, like by 5:30 or 6am. It has only come up two or three times in the past several years. What I did the evening prior was to reach out to the campsites around me and let them know I needed to leave at that early hour. I'm sure I still woke some of them up but they appreciated the warning I think.

Our federal lands are threatening to close dispersed camping areas due to trash. If we want to keep these areas open we must take the lead in stopping this. See someone trashing a place? Get plate information and contact authorities immediately. Pictures of the vehicle with the plate number work miracles. If cell phone is not available save the plate number and turn it in when you can. Be prepared to sign a complaint if necessary. It's up to us to keep our public lands open. I used to confront people about this but I'm to old to fight now so this is the best way to handle it.

I used to have a pickup with a slight modification to the exhaust. I felt guilty when I started to leave a campground before 8 AM so I don't make those kinds of modifications anymore.

Good point. I know my Newmar, being factory stock, was pretty loud when I started it up compared to my current diesel (F350). The ford's motor probably won't bother as many folks now plus I am really careful closing hatches and such.

Probably only in NY. Yes, I only heard it once, but thought it was interesting behavior. Perhaps saying goodbye to a slumbering friend.?

Attention Entegra owners: Turn off your led outside lights at night. They are obnoxious and unnecessary.

These coaches have headlight rings, top rail lights, and rear lights that pollute the night sky.

I am going to make some nice signs that include instructions on how to turn those things off...maybe they just don't know how.
