The most commonly used design simply screws on in the place of the stem cap. They recommend having metal stems vs rubber. But many folks use high speed rubber stems without a hitch. My jeep came with Schrader TPMS sensors and rubber stems. I replaced the rubber stems with their allow stems Part No, 34000.Silly question but the tire pressure monitor is it as easy as replacing the stem cap or does it take a professional to install?
I'm interested to see how you like this one. Good price. Did you take the lifetime warranty for $25?? Seems like a good thing to add!I got a surprise today. My TPMS showed a day early! USPS even!!! Anyhow, after I made sure all the tires had the pressure I wanted the rest was really easy. All I did was put a battery in a sensor, screw it on and within seconds BEEP. It recognized it for where it was and gave me the pressure and temperature. On to the rest. It also had a trailer disconnect function so I won't have it hollering at me about not seeing the trailer sensors. This TPMS even came with a booster to hook up so that the trailer sensors get seen going down the road. The only thing I didn't care for was the booster wiring. It has two alligator clips on it. Maybe that's so you can move it around before wiring it properly? Now to wait until we get rolling again to see how it performs.
It's a drop down right below the drop down for the range extender. I think I'd want both. I mean $25 for LIFE TIME warranty. You gotta love that!!I didn't see that when I placed the order!! It wasn't there I swear! The manual only says a one year warranty, but the site says three years........HHHmmmm. I just sent an email to them. We'll see what they say.
I see that now, but I swear it wasn't there..... really! I agree for that price it would be worth it. The range extender came with my TPMS. I didn't even ask about it when I ordered it since they claimed up to 60' range, but the extender says it should be used when the distance from the unit to the rear most wheels is 25 feet or more. I did ask about the extended warranty in my email to them, so maybe I will get it offered? Time will tell. It's a drop down right below the drop down for the range extender. I think I'd want both. I mean $25 for LIFE TIME warranty. You gotta love that!!
