It's gonna be a cold! Thought it would be interesting to monitor temps where everyone else is as we go through the next couple of days.

Day = Thursday, 12/22/2022
Time = 5:18 PM EST
Temp = 39*
Wind Chill = 36*

Not bad for Dec!
12/23 7:00 a.m. 28* Onalaska Washington

Day = Friday, 12/23/2022
Location = Southwest Oregon
Time = 8:00 AM PST
Temp = 44°
Wind = Calm

The cold system currently north and east of us is skirting this area. We are getting some rain but the temperature has actually risen fairly significantly since that system moved in. Lows were in the high 20s several days ago, but the low this morning was 41°.

-14F the last two nights...currently heat wave of -1F

Location = East Central NM
Day = Friday, 12/23/2022
Time = 9:35AM MST
Temp = 14*F
Wind Chill = 6*F

Forecasted high of 24F

Better than my mom, according to Weatherbug. Franklin NC (Western NC) is currently 10*F and it feels like -2*F at 11:38 AM. Unlike us, she will get above freezing today (42*F for a high).

Tomorrow, our high is forecast to be 41*F. Lots of people will be hitting the plumbing section of Home Depot!

The up side to this current freeze is, while we occasionally get cold snaps this cold and this long, I can make a note in one of my "To Do" Lists of my "extreme cold weather" issues and work on fixing those issues in the Spring when it warms up. I have always thought that, no matter where I am, it's liable to get "unusually" hot or cold. I prefer to be prepared as opposed to hoping that it doesn't happen.

Why we put up with all [mod edit politics] here in Ca, hard to beat the weather! Headed to Moss Landing for Christmas in Monterey. Waiting for ups to deliver my base plate for my Roadmaster Flat tow system for my Canyon.

Houston. 26• at noon. Dropping again tonight.

Southern Tn/Northern Al. 3 deg this morning. 5 deg at 11:30 this morning.

38° in Coalinga Ca at Harris Ranch where you can boondock in their parking lot (even has all-night security patrols) and have a pretty decent dinner in their steakhouse. Theres also a hotel, truck stop, and a huge charging station for all those EVs traversing I-5. Wonder if they have a 120v outlet to charge e-bikes?

During the “season” you have to get here by about 4pm to get a good spot, but this time of year there’s plenty of room. We got in just after 6pm and found a primo spot waiting for us. This is a well used stop-over between the greater (worser) LA area and Northern Ca. Headed to the east side of the Salton Sea and tomorrow - lows in the mid 40’s, highs mid 70’s.

Just wondering how you stand the smell there? Sometimes I stay at the Tashi Casino in LeMoore on my way to the Southwest, which is 25 miles east of Harris Ranch. I can still smell it that far away at times.

East side of the Salton Sea - Slab City?

I stay at Harris anytime I travel although recently they added a ton of superchargers to the gravel lot where most boondock. They are building an rv park supposedly. The delicious steak in the restaurant makes the smell go away.

Going down to 23*F tonight, in warm country.:unsure:🥶

We were 9 degrees in north Georgia this morning, and now, at 4 pm, we have a heat wave that says 16 degrees.

Just down the street from you Bwk. Temp = 12*, wind chill = -8* But that's nothing when compared to some of the members sporting -40 and such!

Last year I promised both Trish and myself that we wouldn't be here next winter, and here I am. Been on generator since 3:00am and did a crash course on how to set up the auto-gen in the coach. Duke Energy says it will 6:00 tomorrow evening before power is restored.

Today we're a 3-gen family. Got a 16kw running at the house, 12.5kw running in the coach, and one of those quiet Honda's running down at the park to keep Dishy McFlatface pumping out Internet isotopes.
