I noticed in @Joe Hogan's new 2024 Newmar Dutch Star an accumulator tank is installed along side the water pump. I've heard of these and saw them when switching to REMCO. His pump is a Shurflow setup. Has anyone installed one, what benefit do you notice? Something RV'ers would benefit from?

Water pumps cycle less! And pressure stays more consistent! Been so long with one I almost forgot why I put it in.

I have a little one, about quart size. I don't think it does much; a bigger one would would help with pressure and cycling.

I’ve been considering one primarily for when boondocking. The refrigerator water dispenser has a low flow rate and the water pump will slowly cycle with the dispenser pressure/flow rate going from high to low and then back to high again. It would improve the dispenser flow rate as it would maintain the accumulator set pressure. I already have a Remco variable speed water pump so I don’t expect any improvement at the shower or kitchen sink.

My bathroom sink cycles because the demand is too low. I asked Remco about it wondering if there was an adjustment on the pump, or what to do. Remco said to open the kitchen faucet at the same time as a test, and yep, it stabilized. Nothing you can do. I think I'm going to get an accumulator and see how it goes. Why not?

WOW, I have a class B, not an Class A. and that looks like something one would use on 1"- or - 2" Pipes. Our pipes are 1/2"-pipping.
And I have an 83' fifth with no basement, but I live off grid and like some comforts.

I've used them on several different 5th wheels. I have found it helps cycling somewhat but quietens the pump substantially.

Also helps conserve water because it is better regulated

Plumbing is always a puzzle but as I have a Remco pump I'm going to stay with their brand. Just ordered 1 x accumulator and 2 fitting kits and see if I can get this puzzle right in under 3 tries!
