I've been lucky with CG's with cable and some areas OTA is sufficient to watch games too. I'll have to see how things go as I still have to figure out college football but locals will typically suffice, assuming I can get OTA or cable.

I may need to pony up for YouTube TV for the season.

I did it - signed up for YouTube TV. Can't miss my games. So far enjoying it.

I will likely keep NFL+ for the season. I really like how you can watch any game. I've had many times where I can't watch my team as they are out of my local area's broadcasting. We'll see how this works after the season officially starts.

@Neal, wanted to verify...with NFL+ you can watch out-of-market Preseason games. What is your understanding of the ability to watch out-of-market live regular season games? I have heard that DirecTV still has that locked up for one more year then it may transition to Apple TV. What say you?

Based on the verbiage I am thinking it's a no. Will have to wait and see.

Good luck! Following your experience.

I'm enjoying YouTube TV, watching Football at the moment but what I like about this new way of TV is I'm not tied to a TV! I'm at my computer catching up and my iPad is to the left with the game on. I think we are entering an era where SAT and CABLE are going to be the VCR's of the past. I didn't see the value in YouTube early on, it turned into a gold mine and now people dub it "YouTube University" as it's such a great resource for learning too. YouTube TV will learn what you watch and suggest what's on for you which is nice. The picture is great. I am lucky to have several unlimited Internet plans (AT&T, Verizon, and Starlink).

I have an antenna and a Roku or Firestick in the home and in the RV.
I dropped cable over two years ago.

@Neal, have you had an opportunity to "record" any shows? If so, have you been able to fast-forward through commercials or does YouTube TV force you to sit through them?

No, haven't tried that yet.

We record shows all the time. It’s a great feature of YT TV. The answer is it depends on the age of the show is what I see. A show I watch got recorded last night and I could not fast forward. On Saturday night, I watched a different recorded show that was recorded over a week ago and could fast forward through it.

It seems some shows you don't have to record, it shows football games I can replay automatically.

I tried to watch a game the other day on NFL+ and it didn't appear so it seemed it was out of market and it was on YouTube TV. I canceled NFL+ before the first billing, not going to need it now that I took the plunge with YouTube TV.

I'm really liking some things about YouTube TV as I learn more about how it works. When going to the live section you get the TV guide to show what's on. On the top right is the sort method and you can use the default, most watched, or custom. What's neat in custom is you can organize the guide how you want such as putting your favorite channels at the top of the list. I haven't done that yet but just discovered it. I'm really liking the record anything concept. I hope to watch my game today at 5 PM but I just clicked the + so it's going to be recorded. So easy!

For a comparison of my home FIOS setup which was Internet + TV I was paying $200/mo. Now I'm Internet only (300/300) for $39.99/mo (with autopay) and with YouTube TV at it's full price which I think is $64.95/mo that is half of what I paid before. While as I mentioned I don't care about TV, having the option to watch something and NOT paying Verizon all that money makes me happy. Top that off with being able to call up content on any device anywhere is a nice feature.

I noticed on YouTube TV that you can't watch out of market games but you can record them. Once it's played you can then watch it.

By the way, it looks like YouTube is offering referrals so we both can benefit. Let's take money from Google and enjoy! If you're interested in signing up for YouTube TV which I'm enjoying...click here as this is my referral link (full disclosure).

We are also using YouTubeTV at our new sticks and bricks, and spent 2 months with it in the RV with Starlink for internet, no problems with either and would recommend. I cancelled my RV Dish plan, and now have a 75lb paper weight on the roof of the RV I have to figure out something to do with, but pleased with the decision.

Yup, also seeing perfect picture quality with Starlink. I was amazed last night watching the games.
