My half bath door latch got itself broken and I priced its replacement at Newmar. Of course, I expected an really high price because that’s what Newmar does. Still, at more than $600, I have to go looking for another source. So, has anyone in our RVF group been down this path before me? Any help will be appreciated.

What is broken and what's being the cover plate if you take it off?

It’s a magnetic latch. When the door is closed, the latch gizmo is drawn into the strike plate and held there by the magic of magnetism. The latch is released by lifting the handle on either side of the door. It appears that someone on the inside of the bathroom gave a hearty shove to escape the tight confines of the half bath and broke the latch gizmo. I haven’t removed the latch yet, but hope to in the next few days…currently being serviced at NIRVC in Lewisville.

Hmm, yep, got to show people how stuff works. We have the electric toilet, cousin visited, so had to show her how to flush it, where paper was etc. If people "Think they know how it works" well trust me they don't.

@GlampDaddy - Back at NIRVC ... more slide work??

Yes, please post pictures of what you find on the latch. I think I will have one of these gadgets on our new one so need to learn how they work.
