I bought an older Fleetwood Southwind 1991 and the first time down the road noticed that it swayed a lot side to side. Is this common of all motor homes? What can I do to help eliminate the swaying ?

Being a 1991 it is now 30 years old. Imagine how worn out your shocks and bushings and steering components are. I'd start there. You can also find out what chassis Fleetwood used in 1991 and Google it to see if there were any known issues or "fixes". Some RV's need some stabilizers to ride straight and eliminate sway.
