About a year ago, after reading of all the failures, I ordered a spare pump from ITR. Sure enough, after two years of light use, I had to replace the summer loop pump on my last trip. Sure glad I had the spare pump.
So, last week I called ITR to ask if the $300 spare pump I had purchased a year ago would last me much longer than the original pump. The gentleman said nope and that none of the pumps of this type were holding up. He ended up selling me a new “better engineered” pump for a reduced price of $225 (down from $250) and assured me that it should be trouble free.
I guess I should be happy but I have a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Just don’t like it when a known product is prone to failure and is not backed up by the manufacturer except for a 10% discount on a “new and improved replacement“.
I will post a picture of the new model pump when I receive it. I think I will replace the summer loop with the new pump and keep the old one for a spare when one of the zone pumps gives out.

I've been tempting fate by not carrying a spare pump. Guess it is about time to buy one. Is there a different Part # to ask for? If I just call and order a spare pump, am I likely to get the old, failure-prone model?

I will post a picture of the new pump and label/part# when it arrives. My impression was that they think they now have a much better engineered pump and no longer stock the original but who knows!

Make sure you have something like these hose clampoffs:
Absolutely necessary for the job. Hose clamp pliers also come in handy.

Got the clamps and pliers on hand; just need the replacement pump.

Here is picture of the old and new pumps. First is the old pump by GRI with the second is new pump by ITR, which was purchased April 2019

Thanks, Bill. That is very helpful. Gotta get out the credit card and stock up. I'm gonna buy two on the theory that if I have that many on hand, I will never need to use either one. Well, one can hope.

I'm scared to even open the box to see what I have for a spare pump. I'm sure ITR wouldn't take it back to credit or exchange towards the new one. Awe heck, I have to look...

They might, worth a try if you have the old one. Think the new started shipping late “summer” 2018.

Why is it I lose stuff so easily in this "small house" - still tossing stuff over shoulders hunting for that ITR pump! Oh wait, dammit, I keep forgetting of my "secret storage" where I put stuff under the bottom of the bed storage panels. Not the first time I forgot about all the stuff under there.

I have the GRI pump purchased June 2018. Emailing ITR to see what they say.

I emailed ITR and they said I could send back my unused spare and exchange it for the newer type. We'll see how this goes...

Here is my new pump just arrived with the invoice.

OK...help me out here. I just went out and looked at my Oasis unit to be sure I had all the information available when I call ITR. I don't find a specific model number anywhere, but the serial number begins with CH50 so I'm assuming that's the model I have. Is that what Newmar is using in the Ventana, Dutch Star, et al? Just want to be sure the "new" motor style is what I need.

Then, I had never noticed before, but hanging alongside the Oasis unit is a bubble-wrapped circuit board, about 4x5" in size. Any idea what that's all about?

Just got off the phone with Kevin at ITR and can confirm that the only pump they now stock is the ITR #20010 as @NWIP posted. I ordered two pumps and was told that they were going out this afternoon and I would see them tomorrow. Now, that's service. It does help that ITR is in the same state; about 265 miles from here.

I'm counting on the fact that with two spares on hand, I'll never have a pump problem. ?

TJ

What did they say about hanging circuit board? How about a picture. And no, I don’t have a bubble wrapped board.

Darn! I forgot to ask about that. I had another call coming in and got rushed. I'll check back with him if I don't get an answer here soon.

TJ

Well. now we know!

Here's the text of an e-mail I got from Kevin at ITR:

"That is our remote panel to the heater, if your touch screen fails inside
the coach you can hook that up down below next to heater to run the heater
for no down time."

Whodathunk? I may store it in a more secure place with better climate control.

Must be something specific to those “luxurious “ coaches. I don’t have one.
