Will start doing that. Did you get a chance to try the timer @redbaron linked to?

After finally receiving the crimpers and having good weather when that four letter word "work" didn't interfere, I was able to work on the front camera again this evening. The camera cable extending from the cap was very short and seemed to be anchored in by black RTV sealing the hole. After cutting off the old camera and leaving as much cable as possible for the new connector, I carefully cut the RTV around the cable to see if I'd be able to pull out any cable. I was able to pull about 4' of cable and get to the fakra connector. That made it relatively easy to remove the old cable and connect the new camera. Now if only the screws Newmar used to anchor the camera to the front cap fit through the holes in the new camera. After a little drilling I was able to get the screws through the metal bracket and mount the new camera. Resealing the camera ended up being the easiest part of the job.

Now remember to unplug the cable from the HD module to de-power the HD cameras when not in use. These cameras were not designed for continuous operation. Mine are warm to the touch whenever running. These cameras are wired to the hot side of the coach 12 volt power so they are always on unless you pull the plug.

Has anyone looked into upgrading their 360 system? I would love to have higher resolution/quality cameras and be able to use a larger, high resolution screen.

How do you physically remove the camera? Does the camera unscrew or do you pull the cable from the back?
The camera should have a plastic cover with a bead of silicone around it. Use a razor to cut the silicone and the plastic cover should snap off. You will then see the camera mount which i believe has two screws holding it in place.

Yikes. These are all new coaches.

Two year old coach here. With the present design, as explained here and in other threads, the cameras are powered 24/7 so the likelihood of a failure after 24 hours x 365 days x2 not uncommon.

Are these issues prevalent today in the 2021 lines? Makes you think twice before ordering this expensive option if cameras need to be replaced fairly soon.

I believe the Xcite HD camera system is designed the same way in 2020 and 2021 Newmars. There is no separate power switch to “power down” the cameras when stored or parked.

I have greatly benefited by this thread as another that has had the loss of three cameras now on our 2019 New Aire. Since accessing the HDCMM is difficult ( behind a door, behind the outdoor TV) I am wondering if anyone has figured out a good way to de-power the cameras or entire dash system by pulling a fuse or circuit breaker...just wondering???

Is this 24/7 powered issue applicable to Dutch Star with 360 deg system?

Good timing...
Just this week I had an electrician install a dash switch to cut power to the main Xite unit in the dash and another switch on the partition behind the TV to cut power to the HDCMM unit.

The dash switch helps to eliminate the heat generated by the Xite unit...I had one unused switch on the dash.

The placement of the camera switch enables me to turn off the all the cameras by merely lifting the compartment door and reaching in...no need to pull out the TV and open access door. You just need to identify and tap into the power wire feeding the HDCMM unit.

Same thing with the dash radio. As some of you know I bought a rocker switch titled "Dash Radio" and installed it to kill power to it. Dash radios are not meant to be always on like in cars. Typically you just need to find the RED wire.
