Asking for a friend:

Does a 77 year old starting off solo full timing in a used class A require an exit plan, or is it likely to be handed to him while on the road?

You question made me chuckle. My philosophy is it is better to have a plan and not need it, than to need one and not have it.

Have a blast, young man.

My thought would be to give thought to where you would live, etc., once you could no longer run around in an RV.

(My friend's) thinking is that he would decide where to settle during his two years of exploration - a place that allows long term stays for 35' motorhomes.

That sounds like a plan/exit strategy

That sounds perfect to me. It’s also pretty much how my wife and I ended up moving to Colorado (at 39 and 35, mind you), minus the RV. We just picked our favorite city we’d traveled to that had job prospects (this part wouldn’t be necessary any longer, with remote work and all).
